Are you an avid coffee drinker? Do you have to have a cup of brew before you start your day? If you are than you probably have some strong feelings as to how you like to buy your coffee. Do you prefer Coffee beans or Coffee grounds? If you do not have strong opinions we will take a moment to discuss the differences.

Let's start with Coffee grounds. Coffee grounds are more convenient, as there is no work to do to the coffee. You just dump it in the coffee maker and press start. Coffee grounds are also a tiny bit cheaper than Coffee Grounds. It comes out to about two cents a cup difference.

Coffee Beans on the other hand are a little more work. You have to grind the beans before you brew your coffee. There is also the additional cost of purchasing a grinder. There are two different types of grinders to choose from. You can get a blade or Burr grinder. A blade grinder tends to be less expensive but it can produce grounds that are uneven which can produces inconsistent coffee. If you do not mind doing this, it is the preferred way to have your coffee. The coffee beans have more flavor and freshness. A coffee bean can stay fresh for approximately 45 days while Coffee grounds tend to start loosing its freshness after nine days.

So if all you have ever made at home is ground Coffee you may want to try grinding some Coffee beans. It is a little more expensive than the Coffee grounds but the difference in taste is worth the couple of sense difference in price. If you are not already an avid coffee drinker you may become one after you start grinding your own Coffee beans.
